The President

On 26 October 2014, the IPO General Assembly ratified the election of its President, Riccardo Felicetti (AIDEPI, Italy).
Simon Nobile Olivo, who chaired the Organisation since its foundation, was elected Honoray President in 2012.



The Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is composed of 16 representatives from the Active members. The Board defines IPO’s vision, policies and priorities, which it submits to the General Assembly for approval. The Board is also responsible for monitoring progress in achieving the aims and objectives for the year and will report to the General Assembly each year on whether those aims and objectives have been met. The Board elects the President and the Secretary General to carry out the Mission and Objectives of the IPO.

The General Assembly

The General Assembly is composed of representatives from each IPO Active and Supporting Members.
The General Assembly sets the overall priorities, policies, aims and objectives for the following year. It approves the annual accounts and establishes internal rules of procedure.


The Scientific Advisory Committee

The Scientific Advisory Committee was instituted in 2006, with the task of supporting the IPO in the performance of its activity of communication on fundamental themes, such as the role of carbohydrates, and particularly of pasta, in a healthy and tasteful diet and in the prevention of certain diseases. The members of the Committee can be invited to express themselves whenever the occasion arises so as to ensure correct, authoritative scientific information on pasta (media, publications, conferences, seminars, etc.).
At present, the Scientific Advisory Committee is formed by 25 experts, coming from 15 countries (to view SAC members click here).


The Secretariat-General

IPO Secretariat General, based in Rome (Italy) since its foundation in 2005, is run by AIDEPI (Associazione delle Industrie del Dolce e della Pasta Italiane), the association representing Italian manufacturing industries of Pasta, Breakfast Cereals, Chocolate and Cocoa-based products, Ice Creams, Confectionery, Biscuits and other fine Bakery products.  The Secretariat General carries out the Mission and Objectives of the IPO and is responsible for ensuring that information about the discussions and decisions taken are followed through and disseminated to all members.

The Secretary General of IPO, since 2006, is Raffaello Ragaglini.
